I cannot play any musical instruments. Not unless a little bit of Chopsticks counts. I never actually studied a instrument, but then again I didn’t particularly have a musical ear. I sing off key and I don’t have much rhythm. However, like many people I have fantasized about being a rock star… or at the very least just being able to play an instrument really well.
I think I is extraordinary to be able to produce music by plucking the right strings or pressing the right buttons. How cool are drummers?! I would so love to be a drummer chick.
Is 26 too old to learn a new instrument? Can you teach and old dog new tricks? Due to a decision to try new things though, I’m throwing cautions to the winds(as in wind instruments).
Then the question of which instrument to take up comes in to play. As I said before I probably wouldn’t be much good as a drummer. I don’t really think winds are my thing either. Winds may be cool if someone else plays it, but the idea of doing it doesn’t really appeal to me. Pianos take up space.
So then, I think guitars is the best option for me. Once again a question pops up. Base, acoustic or electric?
I think the acoustic is probably going to be more my cup of tea. Not that guitars really have anything to do with tea… I could take my acoustic anywhere, annoying my friends with my amateur strumming. Their annoyance levels would depend of course on how much they’ve had to drink.
Seeing as I probably not going to make it professionally, how much money do I want to fork out for it? Do I buy it brand new? I don’t think I should buy a new guitar. It would probably be better to buy a guitar secondhand. I’m sure there are plenty of instruments for sale in the classifieds and I might just get something for a bargain. If I do however surprise myself, by actually playing halfway decent, then maybe I can consider an upgrade.
