Q&A with Robyn Hobson

4 December 2009

I got to know Robyn Hobson on Twitter. Robyn is a contestant in the FHM 2010 Models competition. What surprised me most about this model/actress is that she was friendly, interacted with me and is not stuck up at all. Apart from being really beautiful, Robyn is really funny, sweet, cool and kind of geeky. She has even appeared in two Bollywood movies. I can’t help but have a little crush on her.

Who is Robyn, in a nutshell?

A nutshell… hmm. I’m a short, funny, business science graduate who is also a struggling actress. :D   I am also prone to making lame jokes and then laughing at them . I love traveling, I want to see the world and I own a very disgruntled, moody African Grey who doesn’t love me at all.

Why did you enter the FHM Competition?

I really wanted the exposure that comes with the competition. It’s been great so far and I hope to continue into the Top 10. It’s helped me get my name out there.

What’s the best part about the FHM competition?

I’ve met some really great and supportive people. I have been blown away by how helpful people have been for a person that in most instances they don’t even know. I am proud to say I have the coolest, nicest and genuinely most awesome supporters. I want to thank them for all the effort they put in for me.

What’s your favourite Robyn joke?
There are a lot. They are mostly really bad puns and are spontaneous, eg:
Person (asking in all seriousness): What’s Italian for Headbutt?
Robyn: Materazzi.

My favourite Robyn joke comes from the show “How I met your mother”
BARNEY (to Robyn): That’s why he’s Batman (indicating Ted)… and you’re Robyn.

American Beauty Quote

28 September 2009

“It was one of those days when it’s a minute away from snowing and there’s this electricity in the air, you can almost hear it. And this bag was, like, dancing with me. Like a little kid begging me to play with it. For fifteen minutes. And that’s the day I knew there was this entire life behind things, and… this incredibly benevolent force, that wanted me to know there was no reason to be afraid, ever.”

Sofia Coppola

sofia coppola- female film director

Sofia Coppola was born on 14 May 1971 in New York City. She is the daughter of Francis Ford Coppola and a member of one of the major Hollywood families. She started acting at a young age due to the fact that her father was a director and first appeared as a baby “boy” in The Godfather.

She studied photography at Mills College in Oakland, California and painting at the California Institute of the Arts.

Sofia Coppola made her directorial debut in 1996 with Bed, Bath in Beyond. In 1999 she received acclaim for The Virgin Suicides staring Kirsten Dunst.

She directed Lick the star in 1998 and followed the success of Virgin Suicides with Lost in Translation in 2003 for which she won a best screenplay Oscar. She became the 3rd woman in history and the 1st American woman to be nominated for a Best Director Academy Award (Lost in Translation).

She did a segment on VOID (Video Overview In Declaration) called “This here giraffe” in 2005.
She then directed Marie Antoinette in 2006 again starring Kirsten Dunst.

Sofia is definitely a director to watch out for and probably one of the most beautiful directors in the business.

So the next time you want to buy a DVD, pick up one of Sofia Coppola’s movies.
