Friday the 13th

13 November 2009

Today is Friday the 13th, which is considered to be an unlucky day.  2009 (9 is considered a magic number) saw 3 (considered a magic number) Friday 13ths.  The fear of this day is called paraskevidekatriaphobia.

Am I hiding underneath my bed? No, not quite. Friday the 13th can be a great day for leisure and entertainment.

What I did for today was playing the lottery. I believe that the 13th is a lucky day for gambling.  I even chose the number 13 several times…  And the number 4,  which in China is considered an unlucky number because the word for 4 sounds exactly like the word “die”.

Things You Can Do Today:

    red dice blue dice

  • Gamble
  • Watch any or all of the Friday the 13th horror movies.
  • Watch any other scary movie
  • If you live in the USA or Canada go see the disaster movie 2012
  • Ask people if they feel lucky, “because you look kind of weird”.
  • If you have black cat, spray it blue. You don’t want to take any chances
  • Remove any ladders that might be propped up against a building. You don’t want anyone walking underneath it. Tough luck for the guy in the roof.
  • Wear black and give people evil glares
  • Stay at home and call in superstitious
  • Go out and “get lucky:
  • If you’re into selflessness and self-sacrifice break all your friends’ mirrors. You don’t want the bad luck to fall on them.
