In 1991 she moved to Los Angeles, USA. She had several bit parts and made her big break in Desperado (1995) opposite Antonio Banderas.

Penélope Cruz was born on 28 April 1974, Madrid, Spain. She started appearing in TV commercials after impressing a talent agency at 15. She made her film debut in El laberinto Griego (The Greek Labyrinth) (1993). She got her big break when she got a part in Pedro Almodóvar’s Carne trémula (Live Flesh)(1997).
